WAVE is proud to partner with UNC Charlotte on several projects, including Haton Arena and Student Union. Other work includes Lecture halls and lighting system in Knight Theatre.
After the initial project was completed, we added a custom back-lit design to the panels. Colors can be easily changed and turned on/off. The light provides ambiance for both day and evening events.
With an acoustic design that includes 84 panels, the Student Union’s largest room now provides both a durable and aestehtic solution to icnrease speech intelligiblity.

Halton Arena

Dale F. Halton Arena is an indoor sports venue located on the main campus of UNC Charlotte in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is the home venue of the Charlotte 49ers men's and women's basketball teams and volleyball team.
The arena also hosts University community events, live concerts, student productions, and community festivals.
The Student Union is used for a variety of events throughout the year. Large events, such as new-student orientation, utilize the entire third floor. The large space can also be divided up to seven smaller wings for various uses. The acoustical design allows for proper acoustics in each of the smaller spaces as well as the large space.
Our team created the acoustic design of the Student Union to ensure that students can enjoy events and activities in optimal sound quality.
